Life is a Marshmallow Test
Consider this, fellow bloggers: life is a huge marshmallow test. Well... at least for my setting.
If you could remember one of those commercials on TV (hmm... must've been one of those local milk brands...), the kids who waited for the extra marshmallow had successful lives later on. Moral of the story: patience and perseverance pays off.
It's just like this training room I'm in right now. Lots of times, we're left alone here (fellow trainees, so 3 of us total). We've got 10 Mbps internet connection, privacy, and time to study ABAP/4 (it's SAP R/3's programming language). I've got to admit that I also bit at the marshmallow early, but I did my homework.
Right now, I'm testing out an HP Compaq nx7010. It's a laptop left behind by one of the company's programmers. He got ejected, by the way, because he was on the phone a lot (personal calls), sends SMS's way too often (even at meetings), and is part of the late-in-early-out club. He paid for 3 months use of this unit, and it's being offered to me at a still whopping P99900 (Centrino 1.5 GHz, 512MB RAM, 80GB HDD, 3 months used, a few scratches).
God, help me wait for the other marshmallow...
